Waste Disposal and Recycling Services

The local area is well served by both collections and self-tipping services, as detailed on the web sites:

http://www.rbwm.gov.uk/web/wm_recycling.htm
http://www.rbwm.gov.uk/web/wm_household_waste_guide.htm

The following is a copy of their schedule of disposable items:

With so many different types of household waste it’s often difficult to remember the things that can be recycled and what goes where. The table below gives a quick guide to recycling services. They are mainly provided by the Royal Borough but there may be other recycling places and services in your local area, such as supermarket take-back schemes for carrier bags. Although fairly extensive the list is not exhaustive and there may be items which you come across which are not listed.

***Soil, rubble, bricks, tiles and asbestos are not classified as household wastes and there are restrictions in place to limit the quantities accepted at the Household Waste & Recycling Site and the Civic Amenity Site.

As of present we still have a weekly cycle of both general domestic rubbish collections and of recyclable materials.

Bins can be ordered through the Technical Services department of the Council, based at Tinkers Lane (Windsor) – telephone of Council switchboard –  01628 683800

Recycling materials are separated into 2 categories – paper & board – plastic and cans.

A leaflet is available on request from the Council which explains the categories of materials covered by each of these definitions.

Green (garden) waste can be picked up by special arrangement from outside your premises. However, the lead-time is extensive in the spring and summer. A simpler, albeit messy, process is to transport all green waste to the Braywick “tip” off Stafferton Way (up the lane opposite Homebase and Halfords) to the South side of the railway station.

Next to this, further up the lane, is a segregated, multi-material dumping facility for all other waste materials such as: rubble; metal objects, televisions, gas cylinders, wood, non-recyclable plastics etc.

Note: Trade vehicle require both payment of a fee and permission to drop off waste material.
